Burlesque (Noun) – A variety show, typically including striptease.
…and quality striptease is what we got, in abundance.
I checked out Nude Nightly News this week at Nexus Arts and it didn’t fail to entertain. Granted I’m a massive Burlesque appreciator, but this production based on a ‘world news’ show was brilliantly conceptualised. With an original idea of having two ‘News Anchors’ introducing the ‘Reporters’ (burlesque artist) segments which touch on Trump, Pollution and Terrorism plus more of our worldly disasters…
The brain child of talented Marla Moisty Singer – the cast of reporters were Adelaide renown entertainers and they delivered what they know best, solid Burlesque. Some standouts were Die Lyla Dash’s ‘Finance Report’, Moisty Magic’s ‘Marriage Equality Plebescite’ & the incomparable Ignatius Blackthorne serving us ‘Sports’, what he does with his balls is EVERYTHING! As always a total fave of mine is live singing and the delightfully gorgeous Diana D’Vine gave us ‘What A Wonderful World’ while touching on Immigration with her expected stunning vocal abilities.
The entire cast was on point and Mema Sifa, Ruby Valentine, Sirena Del Rosa and Velvet La’Vim give us electric performances as the news depend on it and showcase their fine moves and seducing reveals – while the anchors, the dominating Cyd Starling & the hapless Callan Fleming blended the segments together with humour which only made the evening totally enjoyable.
My wrap up – Sexy Arse Fun!
One should ALWAYS be up on their News, and when it’s naked, even better!
