Can’t even deal with how much fun I had in the presence of Minnie Andrews. She is a squeaky voiced goddess, and she left me squealing for more.
Last night I checked out ‘Shake It’ for the Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival and IT SHOOK!
From the Shirley Temple opening number ‘Good Ship Lollipop’ the potty mouthed host took us on a wild trip for an hour. Upon treating the masses to lollipops the punters were her slaves for the night. Featuring the best of burlesque and performance this show IS WORTH SEEING.
Set in the Masonic Lodge Gluttony hub on North Terrace with it’s spooky vintage setting, the array of quality performers stood their mark on stage and delivered quality numbers. A stand out was Adelaide girl Sapphire Snow who is a burlesque super star and delivers ONLY exceptional art. Her costuming is always immaculate and her moves dazzlingly seducing. We also saw a brilliant song from fast rising cabaret star Stewart Reeve fresh from his brilliant show ‘Chameleon’ (which also appeared at ACFF) serving us up some Frankenfurter with ‘Sweet Transvestite’. This guys shows need to be constantly on your bucket lists.
Minnie, straight out of ‘Papillon’, knows how to hold a show and pull together a cast. The show is naughty, sexy, rude, inappropriate, brash and I LOVED EVERY SECOND OF IT. It’s running the season of Adelaide Cabaret Fringe Festival, I very much recommend you see it.
Shake It Up my friends. XO
